Welcome to the LIA!

A system is more than the sum of its components. When a system is composed from its parts, the behaviour of the system cannot be explained solely from the behaviour of its components. That’s why composition of systems is interesting. In order to compose a system different topics have to be considered, including functional decomposition, definition of modules, system architectures, technologies of integration, configuration management, flow between different modules, information models, transfer of information between components in order to support cooperation between components.

Faculty and students at the chair of Integrated Automation (LIA) are working on these topics in the area of industrial production systems - balancing between device engineering and production engineering.
